Babs Dodge Front

Babs Dodge Front

After doing the "Babs Dodge" picture, I wanted to try it again but from the front view, and this is the result.

It's not exactly the reverse of the previous image, because I did make, what I think, are some improvements, but it's pretty close. I think my lines are a bit rougher this time around, but I don't mind so much because I'm just going to trace over them on my computer. There's also a bit of a flaw on her right foot that I couldn't get rid of on paper. I couldn't find my normal eraser while I was working on that foot, so I used a backup eraser that hadn't been used in a while. Unfortunately, because it hadn't been used for a long time, it had a lot of gunk built up on it which I didn't notice before trying to use it, so that gunk got rubbed into the paper and then wouldn't come out.

Yay, more Babs! :-)

Cool! Thanks for the new post! Yeah, she really looks frightened, or worried, at the least. :-)

As for dealing with splotches like that, and the background noise I can see in the image, depending on the software you're using you can adjust that either when you scan or afterwards, to make the background more solid white and fade out smudges, while still keeping the lines nice and dark.

If ya' need any tips or help with that sorta thing, let me know. Or maybe I should start a forum topic for it (assuming there aren't already a dozen online :-) ).

Thanks! I'm glad you like it! :)

The background noise is just the texture of the paper. I wasn't worried about getting rid of that, because this is a drawing, so I figure it should look like a drawing. When I color it on the computer I'll trace over all the lines in a new layer, delete the background, and that will clear things up. I could have simply adjusted the contrast to filter out most of that, but I usually don't like how that turns out.

For me, the coloring will be the hard part because I've never really done that before. Actually, I've been trying to color the previous picture and the background is the hardest thing. I have no idea how to create those and make them look good.

I'd recognize this place anywhere!

Computer Coloring

Welcome! And actually, I found computer coloring kinda nice. For example here is one of my first non-flat computer colored pics:

What program are you going to use for coloring, and anything in particular you having a hard time with? I'd be more than happy to give any pointers I can!
